The jubilee, fifth edition of the International Conference on Thermal Spraying and Hardfacing was held on 26 th to 28 th of September 2018 at the Silver Conference Center in Wrocław. The event has been started by the chairman of the Organizing Committee, prof. Andrzej Ambroziak. At the beginning, a plenary session was held, during which the latest development trends and the current state of the art for: thermal spraying, hardfacing and additive manufacturing technologies were presented.
Ten thematic sessions were held over the three days. The presentations included both, scientific and industrial issues. The plan included also a poster session. The industrial exhibition attracted many participants during each coffee break, in particular during a specially organized exhibition session. On the second day of the conference, a networking session was also held, which was aimed at exchanging experiences, making new contacts and strengthening established partnerships.
The 5 th ITSHC conference was significantly supported by sponsors, including: Saint Gobain (gold sponsor), Flame Spray (silver sponsor), Etos Energy, Certech, Plasma System (bronze sponsors) as well as the City of Wrocław and Wrocław Academic Center.
Almost 130 participants took part in the 5 th ITSHC Conference, including around 40 attendees from abroad. During the conference 42 papers and 18 posters were presented.
