WHAT IS GDPR?

GDPR is the EU General Data Protection Regulation, i.e. Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).

The GDPR was created to increase users’ control, knowledge and awareness of their personal data transmitted online.

We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the Data Processing Regulations for the International Thermal Spraying and Hardfacing Conference. These Regulations explain what data, how, to whom and for what purpose will be transmitted and used by us in the course of organising the Conference.

WHO IS THE DATA CONTROLLER?

The Data Controller is Wrocław University of Science and Technology with its registered seat at Wybrzeże Wyspiańskiego 27, 50-370 Wrocław. The Data Controller is represented by the Rector and the Vice Rector for Organisation and Development. Contact with the Data Controller’s representatives is possible by means of the form and contact data available at: http://pwr.edu.pl/kontakt . The Data Controller has also appointed a person who performs the tasks of Information Security Administrator and Personal Data Protection Inspector (DPI). The DPI office is tantamount to the seat of the Data Controller. The DPI can be contacted via e-mail: iod@pwr.edu.pl .

 

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF COLLECTING THE DATA OF CONFERENCE REGISTRANTS AND WHO IS THE RECIPIENT OF THIS DATA?

The purpose of processing the data provided during registration is to register and enable the participation in the International Thermal Spraying and Hardfacing Conference. The legal basis is your consent to data processing. Therefore, the reason of data processing is the consent of the data subject (in relation to Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR), expressed by filling in the registration form.

The data required in the application form are necessary for registration and participation in the International Thermal Spraying and Hardfacing Conference. If the registration form is not completed, the applicant will not be able to participate in the Conference.

The recipients of personal data are:

  1. Entities publishing journals (Materials, Materials Science-Poland, Przeglad Spawalnictwa), in connection with the publication of conference materials (only for participants who during registration expressed a wish to publish an article),
  2. The hotel and the company that constructs exhibition stands to carry out activities related to the organization of Conferences,
  3. Google LLC, because we use the GMail service for registration purposes; the data are then saved and stored in Google Sheets on Google Drive. Google’s regulations on the data processing are available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=pl ,
  4. Other Participants – we make data available on the website of our Conference in order to present the Conference papers and plan (name, surname, affiliation, paper title if submitted) and to the Conference Participants in the materials about the Conference (name, surname, affiliation, paper title if submitted).

 

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF COLLECTING DATA FOR OUR CONTACT DATABASE, WHERE AND WHAT DATA DO WE COLLECT AND WHO IS THE RECIPIENT OF THE DATA?

The purpose of data processing is to inform the recipients about the offer of Wrocław University of Science and Technology – the International Thermal Spraying and Hardfacing Conference. The legal basis is your consent to data processing. Therefore, the reason of data processing is the legitimate legal interest of the Data Controller (in relation to Article 6(1)(f) of GDPR), in particular marketing activities of Wrocław University of Science and Technology aimed at promoting knowledge and science.

The data collected are taken from publicly available sources:

  1. Business cards,
  2. Internet/Websites,
  3. Domestic and international trade journals (Polish and foreign),

Moreover, the data are taken from:

  1. The databases held to date by the Department of Metal Forming, Welding and Metrology created in the course of organising Conferences and Symposia,
  2. Registration details submitted by the Participant concerning additional persons from companies that are Sponsors of this Conference whose cost of participation is covered by the discount (applies to Sponsors only).

In order to create our contact database we collect the following information: affiliation (name), surname, first name, position/academic degree, address, postcode, city, country, e-mail address, website, landline, mobile, fax.

The recipients of personal data are:

  1. Google LLC, because we use a GMail account to e-mail and inform participants. Google’s regulations of processing personal data are available at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=pl.

 

HOW LONG WILL WE STORE THE DATA IN OUR CONTACT DATABASE AND THE DATA OF CONFERENCE REGISTRANTS?

We will store your data from the moment of registration until the end of the current Conference and we will keep them to inform you of the next Conference.

WHAT RIGHTS DOES THE DATA SUBJECTS AND THE REGISTRANTS HAVE?

Conference registrants whose data we keep in our contact database are entitled to:

  1. Request from the data controller access, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing of the personal data,
  2. Object to the processing of data,
  3. Transfer data,
  4. Withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.,
  5. Lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.

SINCE WHEN HAVE THE REGULATIONS BEEN IN FORCE?

The Regulations are effective from 25 May 2022.

WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT TO DATA PROCESSING

Any signed consent can be revoked by submitting a revocation by e-mail to itshc@pwr.edu.pl.
