The 7th edition of the International Thermal Spraying and Hardfacing Conference (7th ITSHC) took place in Wrocław. The two-day event was held in Wrocław on September 11–12, 2025. The conference was organized under the auspices of the European Thermal Spray Association (ETSA) and the Polish Association of Mechanical Engineers and Technicians (SIMP).
The 7th ITSHC was an inspiring event addressing key scientific and industrial topics related to surface engineering – thermal spraying and hardfacing as well as additive manufacturing. The event brought together over 70 participants representing both academia and industry from countries including Poland, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and others.
Participants had the opportunity to listen to three plenary lectures delivered by distinguished experts:
- Prof. Giovanni Bolelli (Department of Engineering “Enzo Ferrari”, Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia, Italy),
- Prof. Jan Cizek (Institute of Plasma Physics, Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic),
- Prof. Lech Pawłowski (IRCER, University of Limoges, France).
The conference program included:
- presentations by industrial partners and sponsors (Certech, 3D Center / Spes 3D, MediCoat) showcasing their latest technologies,
- 32 oral presentations,
- 13 posters,
- awarding of the Gold Badge of Wrocław University of Science and Technology to Prof. Lech Pawłowski – a special distinction awarded in recognition of contributions to the development of the university to outstanding representatives of science and industry,
- networking sessions and social activities, including a Gala Dinner during an Odra river boat cruise and a guided tour of Wrocław (Ostrów Tumski and surroundings),
- best poster awards.
